Red Mountain

A little edit for the holidays

Hope everyone is having an awesome holiday, and Christmas treated you well! I’m home on the Island spending time with family, unfortunately nowhere near my sewing machine and I’m feeling bad about it, but the break from school is very nice. Mount Washington has been dumped on while I’ve been here, now holding a base of 520 cm, ullr gave them 139 in just the past 48 hours. Each day up the hill has been a deep pow day with fresh tracks every run. A very nice christmas present from ullr indeed.

Sadly I have no GoPro footage to show for the awesome powder days here as I am lacking a memory card… but I will be trying to get some pictures on my last day on the hill to post. Pat B. will be bringing his GoPro up as well and may be putting an edit together that will end up here in no time. However, what I can leave you with is an edit from before the holidays of a day at Red Mountain. Rider Matt MacCallum had the GoPro for the sunny day and put together the edit. Enjoy!

New friends, new pictures, fun stuff.

PJS kinda knows some random people from random places around North America. Take this goof for instance, Zachary Halverson, this kids from some funky place called Alaska and well… he’s kinda spiffy on a pair of skis. Lucky for me, he’s also a member of the Purplejumpsuit team. Zach is 16 and rips the pow pow nicely, I met him at the Canadian freeskiing open at Red Mountain in January and more recently he just finished up another competition at Crested Butte.  This time he snagged an impressive 6th, good job Zach!

Here are some pictures of the fine young fella.

So that’s Zach, and we are stoked to have the kid on the team! Hopefully some updates from Alaska will be up in the very near future.

Here on the island we’ve been getting some crazy sun, Martin and Pat have both been getting some decent goggle tans started after we’ve been in the fog/clouds for what seems like forever! Sadly got no pictures from the blue bird days here, but we do have some recent shots from cloudy days.

Martin went tree climbing

Pat’s octo!

I don’t have any pictures of Matt’s recent shenanigans, but I have been told the lucky bugger is getting tons of freshies at the moment, after a ton of sun! He’s kinda stoked, and im kinda jealous. Hopefully he’ll snag some pow shots so we can be even more jealous.

I’ve got to get back to finishing up a tuque, so goodnight.
